Welcome to NEWonline 2.0, the all-new web platform connecting you with other NEW members, the CPG/retail industry and opportunities to learn, grow and share. Our redesigned and re-engineered site features powerful networking and collaboration tools, including enhanced profiles, member messaging, regional group home pages, file sharing, and expanded news and calendar pages.

We encourage you to log on and create a personal page to share with fellow members.  You also have the option of creating a separate public profile to share with the industry and building your own "network within a network." You'll find sound advice and best practices from many of our sponsors in our new Knowledge Bank, industry employment opportunities in our revamped Job Bank, and the latest events and activities on our 15 regional home pages. You can even use NEWonline 2.0 to combine your other online networks like LinkedIn and Facebook.

NEWonline 2..0 is based on an award-winning platform platform provided by YourMembership.com, the world leader in online association software. The site is the result  of a comprehensive process led last year by the Network’s information technology committee headed by past president Kimberly Betts and by an online resources committee headed by Executive Committee members Maria Edelson and Debbie Wildrick. It's part of a continuing communications upgrade that includes a new corporate look and logo launched in January.

Remember networking functions and discounts are for members only. To check the status of your membership, please log on to our home page and, if necessary, start or renew your membership.

Booker T. Washington said, "Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which have been overcome while trying to succeed." These are wise words as all of our organizations face a myriad of challenges demanding each of us to carefully prioritize and plan. It is critical for all of us to make our people our top priority.

Since 2001 the Network of Executive Women has been helping the consumer products and retail industry maximize the power of human capital through education, conferences, networking events, diversity best practices and career development. What began at a meeting of 20 women in a New York conference room has quickly grown into the industry’s largest diversity organization, with more than 2,000 members from 400 companies, 53 corporate sponsors and 15 regional groups nationwide.

Our rapid growth is driven by a pressing need. Three-quarters of the American population and nearly two-thirds of the nation’s workforce is comprised of women and minorities. A far different workforce is replacing the Baby Boom generation that has long dominated American business. Effectively leading this multicultural, multigenerational workforce is essential to winning in today’s global marketplace.

NEW members and sponsors understand that recruiting and retaining women and minorities and fostering an environment of inclusion is critical to the bottom line. That commitment is reflected in our 2008 results. Last year more executives attended more Network events than ever before. We set new attendance records at the NEW Leadership Summit and Executive Leaders Forum and held our first-ever Multicultural Workforce Conference. Four new regional groups were launched in the Carolinas, Cincinnati, the Mid-Atlantic region and Southern California. Forty-two sponsors renewed, including four that upgraded their sponsorship level, and twelve new sponsors were added. Total revenue rose 25 percent.

Our members and sponsors know that recessions produce winners and losers. They plan to treat obstacles as opportunities and preserve and even expand their businesses during this downturn. To accomplish that, they need to retain key talent, recruit high-potential leaders, build morale, increase productivity, foster career development and stay connected with the industry. In short, they need NEW.
