Madden, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, is the author of five books on workforce economics, including Mommies and Daddies on the Fast Track. She has served as an expert consultant in gender discrimination litigation and wrote a 2004 study that contributed to the increased hiring of African American coaches in the National Football League.
