Regional excellence will be honored at NEW Summit in Dallas
Monday, August 27, 2012
The Network of Executive Women will recognize the outstanding achievements of its regional leaders and volunteers during the NEW Regional Awards Gala Monday evening, Oct. 22 at the NEW Leadership Summit in Dallas.
Among the awards to be presented during the Regional Awards Gala will be the Region of the Year (formerly known as the Best of the Best award), recognizing the collective achievements of one region, and the Bobbie O’Hare Award, named after former Regional Chair Bobbie O’Hare of JOH, who helped lead the development of the Network’s regional groups. The Bobbie O’Hare Award honors one member’s outstanding commitment and service. Regions and individuals also will be recognized for other accomplishments.
"The Network’s regional leaders and other volunteers have given NEW a vitality unmatched by other industry organizations,” said Stephanie McFee, NEW vice president of member and regional services. "Their ability to further the Network’s mission to advance women in the consumer products and retail industry through networking, mentoring, educational programming and other efforts keeps NEW relevant and growing. Our regional volunteers offer invaluable feedback on the Network’s programs, tools and events, which helps ensure NEW meets the changing needs of our members and sponsors. This is our chance to publicly applaud their efforts, creativity and achievements and we encourage regional officers and volunteers to attend and celebrate their excellence.”
The Regional Awards Gala begins with a reception Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at 6:45 p.m., followed by dinner, the awards presentation and an afterparty.
The NEW Leadership Summit 2012 includes presentations by three keynote speakers; six workshops tailored for emerging leaders, mid-level leaders and senior executives; and a panel of senior industry leaders discussing the power of women in tomorrow’s consumer products and retail industry. The summit kicks off Oct. 22 with a two-part NEW Leadership Academy supersession, "Facilitating Challenging Conversations," moderated by leadership coach Kim Zilliox and featuring a panel discussion with consumer products and retail executives.
