Viola Davis, Josie Natori headline Simmons conference

Exceptional women leaders, including actress Viola Davis,
fashion designer Josie Natori and renowned personal finance expert Terry Savage, will offer life and career advice at the Simmons Leadership Conference, April 2, 2013, at the Seaport World Trade Center
The full-day agenda offers a variety of skill-building
workshops, topical panel discussions, a corporate marketplace and the chance to
network with more than 3,000 women at all stages of their careers. Attendees
also have special opportunities to interact with the speakers during question-and-answer sessions
as well as book-signing breaks.
"The Network of
Executive Women has enjoyed a long partnership with Simmons, working together
to develop women leaders and support change for advancing women in the
industry,” said Kathy Bayert, NEW director of learning and advisory services.
"This conference offers women the opportunity to learn from each other.”
Davis will give the closing keynote address, moderated by playwright
and performer Anna Deavere Smith. She will share her experiences "On Becoming a Woman of Influence” and describing
her road to success and hopes for expanding the acting opportunities for people
of color and bringing an authentic black experience to the big screen.
Natori will offer her insights building a career in the
notoriously competitive apparel industry and the business philosophy that has
enabled her company to flourish in the global marketplace. During a morning of
concurrent educational sessions, Savage will offer no-nonsense advice about
surviving and thriving in these challenging economic times.
Other featured speakers include opening keynoter Sallie
Krawcheck, past president of global wealth and investment manager for Bank of
America, who will offer "Leadership Lessons for Women in Business,” and bestselling
author and thought leader Charlene Li, who will share advice for on "Winning in
a World Transformed by Social Media.”
