Tuesday, February 5, 2013
Network of Executive Women President and CEO
Joan Toth will lead a discussion concerning "Strategies for a Changing
Industry: Harnessing the Power of a Diverse Workforce” during the The NGA Show,
sponsored by the National Grocers Association, Feb. 10-13 at the Mirage Hotel
in Las Vegas.
Toth will lay out the business case for women in leadership roles and lead a
panel discussion on the morning of Feb. 11 featuring Teresa Chipps, vice
president of marketing and education, independent business for SUPERVALU; Becky Estby, vice president, organizational
development at Coborn’s Inc.; Regenia Stein, vice president of industry
development and communications at Kraft Foods Group Inc.; and Doug Winsor,
president and COO of The Haug Companies.
"Female leaders have special insights into women consumers, who make or
influence 86 percent of all retail purchases,” Toth noted. "Research has
shown that companies that promote women earn more than their industry norm.
Companies that don’t leverage women leaders are at a talent disadvantage.”
The session will include discussion of best practices for removing barriers women
face in the workplace and panelists’ personal experiences and insights.
