Laysha Ward, president of community relations and Target Foundation at Target Corporation, will share her personal story as featured speaker at the NEW Executive Leaders Forum, July 23-25 at the Terranea Resort in Los Angeles. More than 250 senior executives in the consumer products and retail industry are expected to attend the invitation-only event.

Ward oversees Target’s domestic and international grant making, community sponsorships, cause marketing initiatives, volunteerism and other civic activities. She is also responsible for the Target Foundation, which supports arts and social services organizations based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

"Laysha Ward is one of the most inspiring and impactful leaders in the business world today,” said NEW Forum conference designer Trudy Bourgeois, founder and president of The Center for Workforce Excellence. "She is known for her passion to empower others. Her career is a demonstration of her belief in using her gifts and talents to serve others. She will, no doubt, challenge NEW Forum participants to dream bigger, do more for others and take more risks to transform our industry into a place where everyone wins.”

Ward began her career with Target in 1991 in store sales and management with Marshall Field’s in Chicago, where she later served as community relations manager. In 1998, she was named director of community relations for the corporation in Minneapolis. She was promoted to vice president of community relations in 2003 and to her current position in 2008.

The retail executive will join some of the biggest names in the consumer products and retail industry on the NEW Forum program. Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN Inc., will open the event, sharing her experiences redefining the retail business model. Muhtar Kent, CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, will offer his global perspective on the power of women as leaders.

The NEW Forum is designed for senior-level leaders. Contact your NEW Ambassador for details.
