Clif Bar & Company has joined the Network of Executive Women as a gold sponsor, supporting the Network’s mission to attract, retain and advance women in the consumer products and retail industry.

As a sponsor, Clif Bar, a leading maker of nutritious and organic food and drink for people on the go, will help sustain the Network's programs, participate in national conferences and regional events and have access to the Network's career development and diversity and inclusion best practices tools.

"After attending the local events in Northern California, I could see the value that NEW brings to the local CPG community in networking and education,” said Kevin Cleary, president and COO of Clif Bar & Company. "As a private, family- and employee-owned company, we can leverage the resources of NEW to help develop our leaders through training and volunteer opportunities.”

Named one of the "10 Best Companies for Employee Financial Security” by The Principal Financial Group, Clif Bar guides its business with "5 Aspirations”: Sustaining Our Planet, Sustaining Our Community, Sustaining Our People, Sustaining our Business and Sustaining our Brand. Sixty percent of Clif Bar’s 335 employees are women.

Clif Bar’s management team "believes happy, healthy people create the best food,” and strives to create a corporate culture that inspires and supports its people in and outside work, offering competitive pay and benefits, holistic wellness programs and other innovative benefits. The company provides employees with an onsite fitness center, personal trainers and concierge services, such as haircuts and organic produce delivery. Employees can opt for a flexible workweek and are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities during the workday. They also enjoy a sabbatical program; sustainability benefits, such as rewarding employees for biking, walking, carpooling, taking public transit and driving a hybrid or bio-diesel vehicle; onsite childcare; and financial assistance for first-time home buyers.

In 2010, the company implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) recognizing employees’ roles in helping build the business.

Last year Clif Bar opened the White Road Academy, a training and development initiative to help employees actualize their career goals.
