Dr. Bertice Berry inspired more than 250 Network of Executive Women members to live a more authentic life at the NEW Florida spring event, April 5, 2013 at the Pepin Distributing Company in Tampa.

"Always be yourself, "said Berry, sociologist, lecturer and best-selling author of I'm On My Way, But Your Foot Is On My Head, and other humor books and novels. "You get successful when you’re happy, not happy when you’re successful.”

Berry urged attendees to seek personal growth, relationships and community. "Always remember, it takes at least five positives to reverse a negative comment.”

To better connect with your authentic self, Berry recommended asking yourself "Why me? Why here? Why now?” each day.

"If you want to live a more fulfilled life, be open to learning more,” she said. "Research something you are interested in and see where it leads you.”

Among the organizations sending delegations to the NEW Florida lunchtime event were Acosta Sales & Marketing, Catalina, The Coca-Cola Company, Colgate-Palmolive, Hillshire Brands, J.M. Smucker Company, Kellogg Company, Kraft Foods Group Inc., Nestlé USA, PepsiCo Inc. and Publix Super Markets.
