Network of Executive Women Cincinnati celebrated its five-year anniversary with a sold-out crowd and a lesson on authentic leadership from sociologist and comedienne Dr. Bertice Berry, April 24, 2013 in Cincinnati.

Women’s leadership, Berry said, is "about enabling everybody to be themselves.”

She urged attendees to take stock. "Every day, take one minute an hour to stop and ask yourself, ‘Why me? Why here? Why now?’”

Berry also stressed the importance of sharing information and experience. The lecturer and talk show host identified "the gap between knowledge and wisdom” as "your ability to teach someone else what you know.”

Honoring a sense of community affects personal well being, added Berry. "In order for the ‘I’ to be well, the ‘we’ has to be well.”

Organizations sending large delegations to the event included Acosta Sales & Marketing, Advantage Sales & Marketing, Campbell Sales Company, The Coca-Cola Company, ConAgra Foods Inc., dunnhumby USA, General Mills Inc., Harlow-HRK Sales & Marketing, H.J. Heinz Company, Hormel Foods Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, Kao KCBS Sales & Marketing, Kellogg Company, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Kraft Foods, Mondelēz International Inc., PepsiCo Inc., Procter & Gamble, SC Johnson, Shankman & Associates, The Kroger Co., Unilever, WhiteWave Foods and Wm.
