North Central Texas event spotlights gender diversity

than 200 Network of Executive Women members gained valuable insights into
diversity and inclusion practices at the NEW North Central Texas networking
event hosted by PepsiCo Inc. at the Frito-Lay Research and Development Center
in Plano, Texas, Aug. 1, 2013.
North America executives Patrick McLaughlin, senior vice president of human
resources and chief human resources officer, and Laura Maxwell, vice president
of supply chain growth and commercialization, discussed the company’s focus on gender
diversity and inclusion.

industry veterans highlighted the increasing population of women and people of
color in the consumer products and retail industry workforce. Women now
comprise 50 percent of the industry’s workforce. People of color, who held 18
percent of positions in the industry’s workforce in 1980, are expected to hold
37 percent of consumer products and retail industry positions by the year 2020.
event was "a great way to reconnect in a way that brings a lot of people
together that probably wouldn’t have connected normally,” said Vesna
Stojanovic, senior marketing director at PepsiCo Inc.

Fratangelo, senior sourcing manager at J.C. Penney Company. "I really enjoyed
the speaker and learning different things about how to move up within an

Inc., Mondelēz International and PepsiCo Inc.
