NEW President and CEO Joan Toth honored O’Hare, who was
instrumental in launching NEW New England, the Network’s first regional
"Bobbie had the
foresight to know that while a national organization made sense in our industry,
the best way to provide impact for our members was through local regions,” Toth
said. "Soon, Bobbie was rolling that concept out to region after region. New
York Metro, Philadelphia, Northwest Arkansas, until today, when NEW has 19 U.S. regions
and one in Canada.
"Our sponsors routinely tell us that serving on a regional
committee is the most impactful benefit of their NEW membership ― and there’s
just one woman at the very beginning of that.”
Among the organizations sending delegations to the event
were Ahold USA, C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., JOH, Stop & Shop and
Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
