NEW Board member Erby
Foster Jr., director of diversity and inclusion for The Clorox Company, urged attendees to support one another to help empower women in their careers. "It
starts with the NEW members,” Foster said.
NEW Ambassador Debbie
Rookstool, director of learning and leadership development for Safeway Inc.,
received the NEW North California Regional Leader of the Year Award. She serves
as the region’s co-chair, programs.
Attendees left the event
with clearer leadership perspectives and positive networking experiences. "[Cy
Wakeman] was phenomenal and I definitely agree with her about taking more of a
supportive, collaborative role in one’s team and organization,” said Melissa
Leebove of Clif Bar & Company.
Shannon Sims of Diageo
said she appreciated the opportunity to connect on a personal level with
clients outside the regular work day. "It’s also great to network and get to
know [people from other companies] better.”
