More than 200 Network of Executive Women members were challenged to "renew, re-energize and reengage” at the NEW Carolinas fall networking event, Sept. 27, 2013 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.

Comedian, sociologist and author Dr. Bertice Berry shared insights on assessing personal and professional leadership traits.

"Dr. Berry was one of the most inspiring, hilarious and engaging speakers that I've ever heard," said NEW Board member Meg Ham, president of Bottom Dollar Food. "After the program, I walked away with a renewed optimism and her passion encouraged me to reflect on my personal leadership and think consciously about how I can positively impact the lives of those around me every day."

Mike Vail, chief supply chain officer at Delhaize America, agreed. "Dr. Berry was extremely entertaining and pointed in her remarks, leaving the audience motivated and introspective regarding their own personal development goals and ambitions.”

Among the many organizations sending delegations to the event were Acosta Sales & Marketing, Bi-Lo, The Coca-Cola Company, Delhaize America, Family Dollar Stores, Harris Teeter, Kraft Foods Group Inc., Nestlé Purina PetCare, PepsiCo Inc. and Procter & Gamble.
