Three hundred ‘take a front-row seat’ at Florida event

More than 300 NEW members learned take control of their careers and their lives at the NEW Florida learning event, May 2 in Tampa.

Marilyn Sherman, author of Whose Comfort Zone Are You In? and Why Settle for the Balcony? How to Get a Front-Row Seat in Life, reminded members that their attitudes and perceptions are 100 percent within their control and shared empowerment strategies.

"Act as if you know where you’re going,” Sherman advised. Once, she went to a concert and received front-row seats and backstage passes because she "took the walk and acted as if I knew what I was doing.”

When feeling overwhelmed for faced with negativity, remember "there is no such thing as a bad day, there are only bad moments that people choose to nurse all day long,” she said.

"Take your job very seriously,” she added, "[but] take yourself lightly.”

Companies sending large delegations to the event included Acosta Sales & Marketing, Advantage Sales & Marketing, Altria, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Catalina, The Coca-Cola Company, The Hershey Company, Hillshire Brands, The Home Depot, KeHE Distributors, Kellogg Company, Kraft Foods Group Inc., Mondelēz International Inc., PepsiCo Inc., Procter & Gamble, Publix, Wal-Mart Stores Inc./Sam’s Club, Walgreen Co.
