NEW NorCal takes a page from Disney storytelling

Employee satisfaction leads to customer satisfaction and loyalty, according to Disney executive Bruce Kimbrell, who offered strategies for strengthening workplace culture through storytelling at the sold-out NEW Northern California learning event, May 2, 2014.

"People can feel perfection,” Kimbrell told more than 450 NEW members and supporters at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville. To enhance the employee experience, Disney uses powerful storytelling to communicate with a focus on structure, flow, character, tone and mood of the message.

Christine Parra, supply chain manager at Safeway Inc., appreciated the event, saying the program expanded her view of career opportunities and helped "empower me as a female in the workforce.”

"I truly enjoyed meeting women while attending such a great presentation,” added first-time NEW event attendee Marianne Hedrich, legal assistant at KB Ash Law Group P.C.

Organizations sending large delegations to the event include Big Heart Pet Brands, Clif Bar & Company, Del Monte Foods, E. & J. Gallo WInery, Frito-Lay, Kraft Foods Group Inc., Nestlé Group, PepsiCo Inc., Procter & Gamble, Ross Stores, Safeway Inc., The Clorox Company, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Yes To Inc.
