NEW President and CEO Joan Toth will offer her insights on the
business benefits of female leadership during "Women
2020: The Future of Women’s Leadership in Retail and Consumer Goods,” a
one-hour webinar hosted by FMI, July 16 at 2 p.m. ET.
The webinar will feature key findings of the Network’s
"Women 2020” research and offer advice for engaging men in building a
female-friendly leadership culture. The webinar follows the NEW-hosted "Leveraging
Women's Leadership to Unlock the Potential of Your Workforce” panel
discussion at FMI Connect, June 12 in Chicago.
"Women represent nearly half of our industry’s workforce but
less than one in five executive officers and one in 50 CEOs,” Toth said. "Yet
women leaders score high on key leadership traits, like collaboration,
inclusion, empathy and adaptivity — traits that are critical to compete in
today’s global marketplace and manage today’s diverse workforce.
"To achieve workplace
transformation, organizations must change their corporate culture by
challenging existing norms and stereotypes, a change that must start and have
support at the most senior levels.”
