The most successful, satisfied people bring their full selves to their jobs and life, Linda Dunkel, CEO of the Bali Institute of Renewal, told more than 100 NEW members and supporters at the NEW North Central Texas learning event, Nov. 11, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza in Addison, Texas.

Offering leadership strategies and work/life advice, Dunkel said women and men can achieve greater clarity in purpose if they consider their strengths and the areas in their life they're still working on. "At what are you really great? What is the one thing that has come easily for you all your life?"

Learning to "live with life's innate tensions" and developing a personal spiritual practice will make you happier, she said. People who "enjoy every day" are more likely to be dedicated to their jobs, too. "Make this conscious choice," Dunkel urged.

"Always assume the best of others — until clearly proven wrong," she added. "Remember we are all human."

NEW member Angela Miller of CROSSMARK said the event gave her "a chance to really look inward and reflect. It’s also great to meet others that are very similar to you and some that are totally different from you — to hear different perspectives.”

Pamela Fleming of Ascend Marketing said she appreciates the Network's high-quality speakers. "The topics are applicable to my own career growth and satisfaction. NEW's focus is on the importance of personal growth to career growth."

At the event, NEW North Central Texas Secretary Christy McCrary of CROSSMARK was honored as the region's Best of the Best for her outstanding service.

Organizations sending large delegations to the event include Acosta Sales & Marketing, CROSSMARK, PepsiCo Inc. and The Kroger Co.
