Amy Bohutinksy, chief marketing officer of Zillow Inc., approaches work-life balance by bucketing her achievements into four categories: work, self, kids, husband. Daily self-evaluation, she said, has helped her accept a simple truth: "You can't do it all every single day."

Bohutinsky shared her perspective on women's leadership and marketing innovation with more than 70 NEW members at the NEW Pacific Northwest fall learning event, Nov. 13, 2014 at Zillow headquarters in Seattle.

The first woman to take maternity leave at Zillow, Bohutinsky said she felt the responsibility to set the stage for other women who would be taking the same journey.

The CMO also shared stories of Zillow's success and growth, explaining how the nation's economic downturn guided the company's mission toward "telling the truth" about the housing market, even when it was bad news. Honesty and integrity, she said, became the company's focus.

NEW Pacific Northwest Secretary Erin Bradley of Costco Wholesale presented Gillian Crossan, client relationship executive director at Deloitte, with the "Best of the Best Leader” award for her contributions and leadership in the region's development.

Among the groups sending delegations to the event were Brown-Forman, Costco Wholesale Corporation, Deloitte and Zillow.
