Members find Waldo and team spirit in Charlotte

To succeed in business and life, "you should never fly
solo," Lt. Col. Rob "Waldo" Waldman told nearly 250 Network
members at the NEW Carolinas learning event, April 17, 2015 at the Marriott
Southpark in Charlotte.
Teamwork and trust are powerful strengths in the face of
adversity, said Waldman, author of the best-seller Never Fly Solo: Lead with Courage, Build Trusting Partnerships and
Reach New Heights in Business. Waldo overcame massive claustrophobia and a
fear of heights to become a fighter pilot with more than 65 combat missions and
2,650 flight hours.

Meaningful and productive relationships are gained by making
three commitments, to "integrity, mission and team," he said.
Waldman encouraged NEW members to assess their energy and
where it comes from. "It’s not about what keeps you up
at night, but what drives you out of bed?”
Remember that nothing is permanent in a "here today,
gone tomorrow" world, he said. The ability to adapt to change is a
critical success factor.
Attendees left the NEW Carolinas event impressed and
empowered. "I feel refreshed, reinvigorated and inspired," Sterling
Johnson of Procter & Gamble said. "Events like these help me to break
out of the 'day to day' and remember the passion that I have for my
Organizations sending large groups to the event include The
Coca-Cola Company, Delhaize Group, Family Dollar Stores Inc., Harris Teeter,
Procter & Gamble and The Hershey Company.
