NEW Greater Philadelphia goes to the movies

Establishing your brand is "all about telling your story," said Kevin Coupe, founder and "Content Guy" of, adding that it needs to be "accurate, credible and viable… because in 2015 with so much technology available, you can not always control your narrative."

Coupe, co-author of The Big Picture: Essential Business Lessons from the Movies, and Maggie Wilderotter, executive chairman of Frontier Communications, shared their insights on succeeding in the retail and consumer goods industry with 150 NEW members at the NEW Greater Philadelphia learning event, May 6, at The Campbell Soup Company world headquarters in Camden, New Jersey.

Wilderotter told Coupe her favorite movie, "Secretariat," inspired her to play to win, believe in the impossible and "recognize the fabric of a champion" at Frontier Communications.

Wilderotter offered three success strategies:

• Hire and develop great people

• Always have the customer at the center of what you do

• Listen more than you talk

NEW Regional Advisory Chair Marla Thompson, senior vice president, US strategy for Catalina, introduced the Network's new vision and mission statement and provided an update on the Network's It's Time Movement.

Organizations sending large groups to the event include Acosta, Ahold USA, Campbell Soup Co., Deloitte, Giant Food Stores, St. Joseph's University and The Hershey Company.
