Cultivating an image of success starts with confidence and self-worth, according to Margaret Batting, founder of Margaret Batting Image Communications, and Dr. Ella Bell, associate professor at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business, who offered their advice on style, image and branding at the NEW New England spring learning event, May 1, 2015 at Luciano's in Wrentham, Massachusetts.

"Ensure your image is communicating where you are going," Batting said, reminding the crowd that "style, branding and image begins from the inside."

Bell, whose personal experiences, academic research and experiences as an Ivy League Professor inform her message of unlocking inner power, encouraged NEW members to fulfill their potential in life and career. "Confidence, how we think of ourselves, is everything," she said. "Success, it turns out, correlates just as much with confidence as it does with competence."

Never underestimate the power of self-worth, Bell said. "Confidence turns thoughts into actions."

Organizations sending large groups to the event include Ahold USA, C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., Delhaize Group, Keurig Green Mountain Inc., Shaw's Supermarkets, Stop & Shop New England and UNFI.
