More than 700 consumer
products and retail executives attended the ninth annual Network of Executive
Women Leadership Summit in Dallas October 12–13 — a 27 percent increase over
last year.
In addition to record attendance, the Summit scored high marks in a
preliminary tally of attendee evaluations: 95 percent of respondents said they
would recommend the Summit to others; 93 percent said it was useful to their
business; 89 percent said it provided an outstanding return on investment; and
87 percent said they made valuable business contacts at this year’s Summit.
More than 99 percent of respondents said the content was professional and 94
percent said it was inspirational. More than 86
percent of those who have an opinion or have attended the Summit before said
this year’s Summit was the best yet; 90 percent plan to attend next year.
Network President Alison Kenney Paul, a principal at Deloitte, thanked the event's committee, volunteers and staff for making this year's Summit "the most inspiring, authentic, professional and successful yet." In an email message she said, "Your hard work and long hours really paid off as I heard from member after member what an awesome Summit this was. Your teamwork, your wonderful ‘can do’ attitude, your hospitality to our sponsors and guests are unrivaled."
Kraft Foods sent more than 100 executives to the Summit. Other companies sending large contingents to the Summit included Acosta Sales & Marketing, Cadbury, Campbell Soup Co., Catalina Marketing, Coca-Cola, ConAgra Foods, CVS Caremark, Dean Foods, Del Monte, Deloitte, E&J Gallo Winery, Frito-Lay, General Mills, Hormel, J.M. Smucker Company, Johnson & Johnson, the Kellogg Company, Kimberly-Clark, Kroger, Mass Connections, Nestlé Purina PetCare, Nestlé Waters North America, Newell Rubbermaid, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Safeway, Sara Lee, Target, Walmart Stores and WhiteWave Foods.
