Dallas/Ft. Worth named Network's 'best of the best' for 2009

Dallas/Ft. Worth has won the Network of Executive Women’s Best of the Best Regional Team Award for 2009. The group was recognized for its growth, programming, attendance, sponsorship and outreach.
Regional committee co-chairs Genevieve Poirier-Richards from The Marketing Spectrum Consulting and Subriana Pierce from Frito-Lay accepted the award October 13 in front of more than 700 attendees at the 2009 NEW Leadership Summit in Dallas. Former Frito-Lay executive Barb Daugherty and other committee members were also on hand to celebrate the award, which was presented by NEW President Alison Paul, principal at Deloitte, and NEW Regional Chair Maria Edelson, vice president of sales for Evenflo.
“We received many compelling committee nominations this year,” Edelson said, “but Dallas/Ft. Worth stood out because of their leadership, strategic planning and execution. They built a high-performance work team that was collaborative and inclusive and worked closely to execute national as well as regional objectives. They delivered quality programs that drove growth in sponsorship, membership and regional event participation by over 50 percent,” she said. “These numbers are impressive because this region is less than four years old and has a small retailer base in their marketplace. "
Edelson said the region “built awareness of the Network, especially with the younger generation, through their extensive college outreach program and a fully integrated marketing campaign that included social media tools like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. They worked hard to engage every member of the team and leverage each individual’s special talents, interests and gifts to build a high-performance team that exceeded expectations.”
The Network’s Dallas/Ft. Worth group was formed in 2005 to bring NEW’s message and mission to the region. NEW has 14 other regional groups nationwide: Carolinas, Chicago, Cincinnati, Florida, Metro New York, Mid-Atlantic, New England, Northern California, Northwest Arkansas, Philadelphia, Portland, Southern California, Twin Cities, and Western Michigan. The Best of the Best Team Award was launched in 2008 to recognize outstanding performance among the Network’s regional groups. Last year’s winner was the New England regional committee.
