Friday, September 10, 2010
Registration for the NEW Leadership Summit 2010 has broken records as more than 750 Network members plan to attend the ninth annual event, Sept. 27-29 event in Charlotte.
At the Summit, cpg/retail executives will discover ways to help them transform their careers, lives and companies to better profit from the consumer industry’s "new normal."
Members will learn from a diverse group of leaders, including CVS Caremark President and COO Larry Merlo, futurist Edie Weiner and retired Lt. Col. Consuelo Kickbusch, who will share their personal experiences and business insights. During the three-day event, executives will participate in SuperSessions, featuring Bill Fournet, corporate strategist and president and CEO of the Persimmon Group; Kevin Coupe, journalist, author and industry blogger at MorningNewsBeat.com; and DeLores Pressley, a consultant and coach specializing in building relationships.
Attendees will join author Fawn Germer for a bonus roundtable of multigenerational panelists. Network members from the Baby Boom, Gen X and Millennial generations will provide different perspectives on the recession and how it has challenged them as leaders and individuals.
Post-Summit, members will participate in two optional events. During The Retail Safari®, attendees will learn how "shopability” -- the art of helping consumers shop easier -- may power their sales. The group will pay visits to Bloom, a "different kind of grocery store”; Family Dollar, one of the nation's largest convenience and value retailers; IKEA, the self-service home products retailer; Trader Joe's, a chain that combines shopability with competitively priced store-branded products; and a remodeled Walmart supercenters.
Other members will take advantage of the one-day Deep Dive Career Day, exploring ways to leverage their unique work styles to maximize business relationships, improve communications, increase effectiveness and build strong mentor partnerships. Deep Dive Career Day participants will take part in nine in-depth conference calls that extend the program though November 2011.
