Monday, October 11, 2010
Lori Proctor, retail supply leader for Procter & Gamble, San Ramon,
Calif., and the Network of Executive Women’s Cincinnati regional committee have been awarded NEW's 2010 "best of the best” regional awards for advancing the Network’s diversity
goals and extending its reach.
Proctor, co-chair of the Northern California Region, was presented with
the Bobbie O’Hare Award as the year's outstanding committee member during the NEW Leadership Summit, Sept.
28 in Charlotte, N.C. The Cincinnati region’s leadership team was presented the "Best of the Best" regional committee award.
Proctor was recognized for her instrumental role in founding, managing
and engaging members in the Northern California Region. She was commended for
her "passion, commitment and dedication” to the Network’s mission to attract,
retain and advance women in the consumer products and retail industry through
education, leadership and business development.
Proctor, who previously served as Northern California Region’s committee
secretary, is described by her fellow committee members as a "compassionate
contributor who truly believes that future leaders need mentors to grow
professionally and personally, and that, in turn, they become mentors for
generations to come.”
The award is named for former NEW Regional Chair Bobbie O’Hare, vice
president of sales development for the Johnson O’Hare Companies. O’Hare, who
helped lead the creation of the Network’s 15 regional groups, joined current
NEW Regional Chair Maria Edelson, in presenting the award to Proctor in front
of 800 members attending NEW’s Summit.
Also recognized at the Summit as "Best of the Best” was the Cincinnati
Region’s 40-plus committee members for their efforts to bring the Network’s
mission to life.
The Cincinnati Region, led by Co-Chairs Lisa Holsclaw of Kroger Co. and
Mindy Sherwood Thompson of Procter & Gamble, Treasurer Loretta Ayers of
Deloitte and Secretary Felicia Mooty of Nestle Purina PetCare, delivered
impressive numbers throughout the year, Edelson said.
"Its events averaged 400 attendees and the group raised more than
$70,000 in regional sponsorships,” she noted, adding the committee developed
high-quality programs featuring sought-after speakers and created a committee
mentoring program. "They have delivered larger-than-life results while building
a strong partnership with the national staff and flawless compliance to our
regional operational procedures.”
Each year, members of the Network’s 15 regions nominate one person as
their Best of the Best committee member. These members are honored during each
region’s fall event and are eligible for the Bobbie O’Hare award. From this
list of women and men who have been recognized by their own regions, NEW
officers select one to receive the Bobbie O’Hare award.
