NEW Chicago learns to manage personal energy
Monday, October 10, 2011
More than 250 Network of Executive Chicago members discovered ways to avoid a "personal energy crisis” at a Corporate Athlete®Course, Oct. 6 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.
Corporate trainer and performance coach Theresa Robinson offered NEW Chicago members tips on how to effectively manage personal energy to become physically energized, emotionally connected, mentally focused and aligned with a personal mission. The half-day event was moderated by NEW Board member emeritus Bobbie O’Hare, vice president of business development for JOH.
Robinson said she aimed to "give women permission to take back control of their life and schedules,” as work/life balance, family and "me time” are crucial to career and personal success.
After the event, NEW members said the workshop was "great and holistic,” "inspirational,” and "energizing and motivating.”
"This was very relevant -- and very practical -- to what women are facing today," said NEW member Polly Rowland of Quill.com.
Among the companies represented at the event were Catalina Marketing, Colgate-Palmolive, Coty Inc., Kraft Foods Inc., PepsiCo, Sears Holding Corp. and the Walgreen Company.
On May 3, 2012, NEW Chicago will present "The Future of Retail,” with panelists Heather Mayo, vice president of merchandising for Sam's Club; Deirdra Merriwether, president, retail services for Sears Holdings Corp.; Janel Haugarth, executive vice president, merchandising and logistics for SUPERVALU; and Stacia Anderson, senior vice president, merchandising-home, Target Corp.
