Monday, October 10, 2011
Past Network of Executive Women Board member Lucia Romanello
Crater has been named chair-elect of the 2012 NACS Supplier Board. Romanello Crater
will serve as chair of the convenience/petroleum industry association’s Supplier
Board in 2013.
"I am humbled and
honored to be the chair-elect for the NACS Supplier Board,” she said. "I have
been involved with the board since 1999. At that time, there were three women
on the board and one in a leadership role. Fast forward to 2012, the board will
have four women, three of whom are in leadership positions. The board is starting to reflect the face of the
consumer, who makes 80 percent of all buying decisions.”
Romanello Crater, vice president, retail sales for Cardtronics
Inc., recently served as moderator for the "Go Team: Creating Positive
Relationships with Retailers to Sell More Products” workshop at the 2011 NACS
Trade Show in Chicago.
The Oct. 3 session highlighted ways suppliers could work
with convenience retailers to feature products and generate more sales. She was
joined by retailers who shared creative team marketing ideas using some of
today’s latest viral platforms, plus old tricks that still work. Panelists were
John Schaninger, vice president sales and marketing, Quick Chek Corp.; Trey
Powell, director of national procurement US, Circle K; and John Zikias, vice
president, marketing, Thorntons Inc.
