NEW Leadership Academy launches February 3

The 2012 Network of
Executive Women Leadership Academy, a series of eight webinars focusing on
personal growth and career advancement, kicks off Feb. 3, 2012, with a workshop
on developing emotional intelligence as a leadership skill.
Registration for the
NEW Leadership Academy webinars is free for NEW members. Kim Zilliox, vice president of
leadership development for Women’s Leadership Coaching Inc., will lead the one-hour sessions, which will
include a senior-level retail industry executive and cpg leader sharing their
personal experiences and insights. The Leadership Academy webinars will take
place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST on Feb. 3, March 2, May 4, June 1, Aug. 3,
Sept. 7, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7, 2012. Members completing all eight classes will be
recognized with a Leadership Academy certificate.

A&P, for example, have already tapped into the Leadership Academy to
support their women’s networks. The retailer’s new Women Executive Leaders
Leading (The WELL) business resource group has made the webinars part of its
calendar of events, hosting a lunch for any WELL member who would like to
participate in a group setting.
"Our funds to launch
our group were very limited," noted Marie Robinson, senior vice president,
supply and logistics. "The Leadership Academy webinars seem custom-designed to
fill our needs. Participation has been outstanding, and the discussions we have
afterward have led us to uncover internal resources and insights that have only
made our group stronger.
