Wal-Mart Canada CEO Broader to headline inaugural NEW Canada event

Wal-Mart Canada President and CEO Shelley Broader will be the keynote speaker at the first-ever NEW Canada networking event, Jan. 25, 2012 in Mississauga, Ontario.
Broader will be joined on the program by NEW Canada Co-Chair Karen Young, general manager, Nestlé Waters Canada, and Michele Hardinge, senior vice president of Ontario Operations for Wal-Mart Canada.
"In our start up year, NEW Canada achieved many great milestones: from the development of our Canadian strategic plan to signing up more than 100 members and bringing on board a record number of sponsors,” Young noted. "The momentum continues with what I believe to be our greatest milestone yet -- our first formal event.
"We are absolutely thrilled, appreciative and grateful to Wal-Mart Canada, and, specifically, Shelley Broader for her continued support of NEW and our mission to attract, retain and advance women in the consumer products and retail industry through education, leadership and business development.”
Young said the past 18 months of Network experience has giving her the opportunity to "work with such an outstanding group of people; their capability, passion and commitment are unprecedented.I am extremely proud of the NEW Canada team and all they have accomplished. I am excited about the future of NEW Canada and the role it will play in our industry.”
The NEW Canada breakfast event will be held at the Mississauga Convention Centre, Salon C, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
