Tuesday, January 17, 2012
Thirteen Network of
Executive Women sponsors have been named to DiversityBusiness.com’s 2012
"Top 50 Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities.”
Named to the 12th annual
"Div50” list of businesses providing business opportunities to diverse business
owners throughout the United States were NEW sponsors Walmart Stores Inc. (No.
2), The Coca-Cola Company (9), Kroger (15), PepsiCo (18), SUPERVALU (23),
Procter & Gamble (24), Target Corporation (28), Colgate-Palmolive (29), The
Home Depot (32), Johnson & Johnson (33), Walgreen Company (38), Ahold USA
(42) and MillerCoors (45).
These companies "truly
differentiate themselves in the marketplace in a time when diversity is on the
rise,” according to Kenton Clarke, CEO of DiversityBusiness.com. "The diversity
practices of the Div50 have changed the course of economic inclusion and thereby
the world as we know it.”
In a marketplace that is
increasingly as sensitive to diversity as it is to revenues, awarding the top
buyers of multicultural products and services is becoming a natural part of the
new socioeconomic food chain, he noted. "Organizations that consistently buy
the most products and services from diversity businesses and that sustain the
most mutually beneficial business relationships with their multicultural
suppliers should be recognized not only by the business community, but also by
the general public."
DiversityBusiness.com is
a leading multicultural business-to-business website. The Div50 is a
listing of the top 50 corporate and organizational buyers of diversity products
and services throughout the United States. It represents the voice of more than
1,250,000 diversity-owned (women, African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Native
American and other multicultural groups) businesses, in sectors such as
technology, manufacturing, foodservice and professional services.
The Div50 companies will be honored during a special awards ceremony at
DiversityBusiness.com’s12th Annual Multicultural Business Conference,
April 25-27, 2012, at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.
