Network of Executive Women members Sue Klug, president of SUPERVALU’s Southern California division, and Sue Mullins, group vice president, human resources, store operations and supply chain for Smart & Final, have been named the 2012 Women in the Food Industry honorees by the Food Industries Sales Managers’ Club of Los Angeles.

Klug, past co-chair of NEW Southern California and the 2011 recipient of the Bobbie O’Hare Award as the outstanding NEW committee member, and Mullins will be recognized at a luncheon event March 20, 2012, at the Montebello Country Club in Montebello, Calif.

"The Women in the Food Industry event was designed to honor women who have achieved great success and have consistently shown strong efforts in mentoring and promoting women in our industry,” said NEW member Cynthia Weifenbach, vice president, sales and marketing, ATA Retail Audits Services and past president of FISMC. "Their generosity and dedication to our industry has not only enabled them to succeed, but has positioned them as ladies who are greatly admired by all.”

Founded in 1934, FISMC is a non-profit organization that offers a relationship-building forum for sales managers directly selling products or services to the retail food trade. FISMC supports a number of charities, including The City of Hope, Olive Crest Home for Abused Children, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and others.
