Michaels Stores is Network's 76th sponsor

Michaels Stores Inc., North America's largest specialty retailer of arts, crafts, framing, floral, wall decor and seasonal merchandise, has joined Network of Executive Women as a gold sponsor. NEW now has 76 national sponsors.

"Michaels’ more than 45,000 employees are enthusiastic and passionate about their work and people development,” said Nancy Krawczyk, vice president of sales and marketing for NEW. "Michaels is always looking for the brightest, most creative and most talented people to join its team. The company’s support of NEW demonstrates its commitment to gender diversity as it recruits new associates and advances its emerging leaders.”

Michael’s Stores’ mission is be "a world-class performer that inspires and enables consumers to experience creativity and leads industry growth and innovation, while creating a fun and rewarding place to work that fosters meaningful connections with our communities.” The company, which operates 1,060 Michaels retail stores in 49 states and Canada, plus 136 Aaron Brothers framing stores in nine states, had more than $4.2 billion in sales in fiscal 2011. Approximately 34,600 of its employees work on a part-time basis.
