More than 80 Network of Executive Women members learned to take a
critical look at their professional networks at the "Building a Network of
Powerful Advocates” workshop April 3, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The NEW North Central Texas event, held at the Brown-Lupton University
Union at Texas Christian University, featured executive coach Neena Newberry, who
offered advice on building lasting relationships to achieve personal and
professional goals. Newberry also discussed the difference between mentors and
sponsors and reviewed research from Catalyst and Harvard Business Review
detailing the power of sponsorship.
The workshop was
followed by a two-hour networking reception.
Among the organizations with delegations at
the event were Kimberly-Clark, Kroger Co., RadioShack, Texas Christian
University and Walgreens.
