Linda Johnson of SUPERVALU joins NEW Board

Linda Johnson, corporate vice president of talent management, diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer for SUPERVALU, has assumed the position of at-large Board member for the Network of Executive Women. Johnson replaces Mike Byron, formerly vice president, supplier diversity for SUPERVALU, who recently left the company.

As a member of the Board, Johnson will provide guidance on furthering the Network’s mission to attract, retain and advance women in the retail andconsumer products industry through education, leadership and business development.

"I am thrilled to be joining the NEW Board as I believe strongly in the network’s mission and have a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion and the impact that women can have in our industry,” Johnson said.

Johnson is responsible for the development and execution of SUPERVALU’s diversity and inclusion and talent management strategies, including talent acquisition and talent development. She works closely with leaders and human resource partners on people strategies to create value for each of the company’s stakeholders. With her team, she addresses attraction, representation, retention, training, development, succession planning, talent review and engagement.

She is Board chair of the SUPERVALU Corporate Diversity & Inclusion Council and president of the SUPERVALU ASSIST Foundation. She also serves on the Minnesota Advisory Board of the National African American Association in Human Resources and the Executive Planning Committee for the Multicultural Forum on Workplace Diversity and is a member of the African American Leadership Forum, Urban League and Norfolk State University Cluster.

Byron continues to serve on the NEW Diversity & Inclusion Council. "We’re fortunate to be able to continue to tap into Mike’s expertise,” Toth said. "His experience and insights have helped the Network deliver relevant and effective tools and content, especially NEW Diversity Forum programming.”
