Sunday, August 05, 2012
Paula Price, chief financial officer
of NEW title sponsor Ahold USA, has been recognized by Boston Business Journal
as the 2012 CFO of the Year in the public business category.
Price’s knowledge of finance and her
broad experience, combined with her managerial abilities and understanding of
the business, has enabled her to dramatically expand her role well beyond the
traditional role of CFO, Ahold USA said in a statement. In addition to serving as
the chief financial officer, she is responsible for leading the retailer’s real
estate, construction and information management teams.
"Paula is a pioneer
in the grocery retail industry, using her extensive experience and knowledge of
finance to assist our company in continuing to streamline operations and
processes,” the company noted. "Since our reorganization in 2009, Paula has
overseen $700 million in cost savings through process efficiencies and
simplification. She has been actively engaged in identifying strategic,
commercial and financial strategies that drive top line and bottom line growth.
This has enabled our company to reinvest back into the business and grow sales
and market share in the midst of a turbulent economy.”
