NEW isn’t satisfied with representing the retail and consumer goods industry as it is. Our goal is to create a community of leaders even more diverse than today’s industry and to drive inclusion throughout NEW and the sector we serve.

NEW reaches out to traditionally underrepresented groups, including women of color, millennials and the LGBT community, to bring them into NEW and into our industry’s leadership. And because male support is critical to advancing women’s leadership and diversity, these initiatives include men, too.

The NEW Inclusion Committee and NEW Inclusion Initiative were created to increase our engagement on D&I issues. A major goal: Grow representation in our membership to 10 percent men, 20 percent next generation and 30 percent multicultural leaders by 2020.

NEW also formed the NEW Gen Committee to reach out to emerging industry leaders in their 20s.  Our NEW Member Community, launched in July 2017, includes an open forum where NEW’s member communities can share their experience and express their views.
