Seventeen women executives from NEW partner companies assembled in Amsterdam, April 30-May 5 for the NEW Executive Institute 2017 international learning session. The NEW Executive Institute’s global onsite session was sponsored by Ahold Delhaize, which hosted the program at its world headquarters in Zaandam, and Heineken.
NEW Executive Institute participants engaged in experiential learning exercises and learned leadership lessons from senior industry executives. Topics included cultural competency, talent development, organizational effectiveness and efficiency, collaboration and productivity. The learning program included a tour of a state-of-the-art Albert Heijn store.

Featured speakers were Ahold Delhaize Chief Human Resources Officer Abbe Luersman, Chief eCommerce and Innovation Officer Hanneke Faber and Senior Vice President, Business Planning & Performance Mayte Oosterveld. Other industry leaders and subject matter experts sharing their insights were Danone’s Bridgette Heller, executive vice president, early life nutrition and advanced medical nutrition, and Florence Jeantet, vice president, growth through innovation; Finka Jerkovic, How to Fascinate; Arlene Isaacs-Lowe, president, Moody’s Foundation; and NEW Board Member Dorria Ball of Global Ballance Group. Also sharing their expertise were HSBC Executive Vice President of Global Marketing Nancy Armand and McKinsey & Company Associate Partner Pamela Milligan.

Leadership development coach Tara Jaye Frank served as the week’s program facilitator.
NEW Executive Institute trains a select group of emerging senior executive women in the retail and consumer goods industry each year. It combines 360 assessments, executive coaching, online learning and two in-person sessions, one of them abroad. The leadership program continues with virtual learning webinars in June and July and a five-day onsite learning session in Chicago in October.
Applications for NEW Executive Institute 2018 will be accepted in Fall 2017.
