Eleven women representing eight companies graduated from the NEW Executive Institute leadership development program in October. The seven-month program, which included online and on-site learning, wrapped up with a week-long immersive learning session in Evanston, Illinois.
Now in its third year, NEW Executive Institute is designed for women who have been recognized by their organizations as high-potential leaders and offers participants a transformative experience, expanding their capacity to lead cross-functional teams and giving them new strategies and techniques to drive results.
The week-long closing session focused on achieving business goals. Participants and experts worked collaboratively to find solutions to problems facing their organizations. The women heard from Abbe Luersman, chief human resources officer at Ahold Delhaize; Vicki Felker, vice president and general manager of the Golden Products division, Nestlé Purina PetCare; Fotini Iconomopoulos, a negotiation consultant; Nat Irvin, a futurist; and leadership consultant Finka Jerkovic, among others.
Participants learned to address the challenges of expanding into new markets and evaluating corporate performance, examined theories and frameworks for identifying and exploiting profitable opportunities, gained insight from the successes and failures of other companies and linked strategic operations to customer experience and financial performance.
